My name is Rob J. King, and I have been greatly influenced by the best of the 'Left' side of the Political Spectrum for much of my life.
Starting with my Dad, a Missionary Baptist son of a Railroad Man, who was drafted by the Military to serve in Korea (later spent 20 years in the Coast Guard, retiring as an E-8), I learned to act justly, be humble, and favor the rights of the 'working man.'
Ever the Jimmy Carter fan (my Dad WAS born in rural Georgia!), we learned that the solutions of the political left were often the more compassionate, the more economically sensitive and generally the position of the common man (unlike fiscal conservatives who try to dominate world power with the all-mighty dollar bill . . .).
BUT, from 2004 - 2007, I could no longer in good conscience call myself a Democrat. Baby killing is just not something that I could support. Granted, now I have returned to the Democrat side of the political fence, but only as a CHRISTIAN, and therefore always opposed to folks like Barama, Clinton and Edwards who support baby-killing.
BUT, although Democrats have sold their souls for protecting the rights of women to brutally murder their babies, I nonetheless am hopeful for a BETTER DAY!
Perhaps the Democrats who have sold their souls to kill babies for cheap votes can now come to their senses. Perhaps the Democrats who have sold their souls to kill babies can see that Jesus Christ and the ETHIC that HE embodied was actually a PROGRESSIVIST ETHIC! Favor the poor, favor the marginalized (prostitute, tax collector, Samaritan), and favor non-violent solutions to world conflict. This is the teaching of true Bible-based Christianity, whether it is the pacifist group known as 'Anabaptists' who are the Mennonites and the Amish OR whether it is the Just-War tradition of St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas (Catholic), the Political Left would have much to learn from the Christian Tradition.
Who knows, maybe even if the Democratic Party would learn from Christians then maybe they could come to the RATIONAL CONCLUSION that a heart-beat, brainwaves and unique D.N.A. of a baby in the womb is actually a PERSON and thereby should be protected BY LAW just as babies were protected in the U.S. from 1776 - 1973.
PRO-LIFE, PRO-FAMILY, PRO-PEACE!
