Additive, not Subtractive (ANS) is a wiki philosophy stating that more is better than less, so adding to a wiki is generally better than subtracting from it. In other words, if you disagree with the content of an article, you should express your POV constructively, rather than destructively removing opposing viewpoints.

This is not a policy, but rather a guideline for editing and for the creation of policies.

Vandalism, including forms of spam that require adding useless or repetitive content, are destructive and as such are considered subtractive. In fact, any incorrect factual assertions or blatantly irrelevant statements detract from the credibility and focus of an article, and fall into the "subtractive" category, but they should be corrected rather than being removed, if possible.
