Pilot SchoolsEdit

Boston has one of the most successful efforts to implement the values of the charter school movement within an existing public school district. Pilot schools, where principals and teachers retain greater control of their own school, emerged with support from the mayor, district administrators, and the teachers' union. The Center for Collaborative Education coordinates the network of 19 schools in Boston.
