Forum:Important Issues Each Candidate should Address

It seems to me that the political system in this country has gone down the tube in the last 50 years. We have too many citizens that care only about what the government can do for them today and to heck with tomorrow. When a candidate runs for office he only addresses issues such as Education, Taxes, Socialized health care, and Defense. What happened to all the other important issues? Issues like transportation, border security, immigration, law enforcement, privacy in our homes, Democracy, and the right to strive for self improvement. We have too many give away programs that stifle the desire to improve one's self. We should hold our candidates to a much higher standard that is currently the policy. It makes me wonder if enough caring people still exist to make a difference. This is America and when it fails we all fail.
