Forum:LD Debate Pilot: Non-Enumerated Rights
From Campaigns Wikia
Resolved: The United States ought to formally recognize the Universal Declaration of Human Rights[[1]] as a list of rights "retained by the people."
I was once a member of my school's debate team, at that time I found that most of the brightest individuals I have ever met just loved LD Debate. Perhaps this parsing will light that fire inside you once again as we attempt to tackle this "giant" as Biggdogg5678 put it. What we need to do then is build a base. I'm not saying this is the best way to do it, but it is one way which allows for modularity. We are attempting to tell our parties, the world, people in general, to educate them as best we can and we need some kind of foundation. With that in mind, I encourage you and your compatriots to let us know what you think and why. Register an account if you haven't already. Help build a series of definitions for whom the purpose is that of truth rather than the benefit of any single political party.
That said, because the United States voted in favor of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights received strong support from the United States (Eleanor Roosevelt aided in it's drafting) I must affirm the resolution and encourage you to do the same.
