John Edwards is a candidate for the Democratic Party Nomination for United States President in 2008. He has been a trial lawyer working on consumer advocacy, US Senator (1998-2004), and the first Director of the Center on Poverty, Work and Opportunity. Senator Edwards was the Democratic Vice Presidential nominee on John Kerry's ticket in 2004.
