São Tomé and Príncipe will hold its fourth presidential election since the introduction of multi-party politics in 1990 on 30 July 2006. Incumbent Fradique de Menezes, first elected in 2001, is widely expected to seek a second five-year term in office.
Fradique de Menezes was elected with 60.56% of the votes.
Patrice Trovoada obtained 38.84% of the votes.
Nilo Guimarães obtained 0.59% of the votes.
