Hello. I am a Computer Science student currently studying at Tulsa University in Oklahoma. For the past couple of years my discontent with the government has been growing. I believe that we are no longer living in a democracy, but an oligarchy, much akin to the republic that ruled in the decline of Rome. We must restore rational thought and remove partisanship from the government. The government must be opened up to new political parties and ideas, instead of the stagnant quagmire it has become. Today is the day, the American people must stand up. Apathy is a disease in this country, and we must change the way politics are done.

Hey Bobcobb, don't you think that Term Limits would end the oligarchy ? Epecially if we got a one term limit law, which would utterly destroy the class of professional politicians that form the oligarchy. I should add that more ordinary citizens would run for office, since they would not have to compete with the professionals and all their special interest money. And as far as the concern that Kbal11 expressed to my piece (Why the silence...?) on another page, I'm far more willing to take my chances with citizen legislators who MIGHT make deals with big bugaboo 'industry', who are term limited, than live with permanently 'elected' politicians who I cannot get rid of!!! nels96
