Hi all I am Deane Jessep I was born in Napier, New Zealand in 1979 and I am now a Napier City Councillor. I am polically center although in areas of personal responsibility I lean to the right, however I firmly believe that any idea that is a good solution to a problem should be observed on its own merits, not those of the person who came up with it. This means that it does not matter if it is a left wing or a right wing solution, if it works use it!

I am the youngest Napier City Councillor by well over 10 years. I am the second youngest in Napier ever. There are less than 10 people in New Zealand elected to councils at 25 years old or under recently; some I know of are:

• Hayley Wain - Wellington Council.
• Nick Leggett - Porirua district licensing board (ex-porirua council).
• Jami-Lee Ross - Manukau City Council.
• Paula Gillon - Ex North Shore City Councillor (last term).
