I'm Richard Blumberg.
I'm approaching 70, and I've been in this game for a while. I bought a Processor Tech Sol 20 in 1978 and started an ad agency with it. When I sold out in 1991, the agency had 75 Macs networked, and I won the CIncinnati Art Director's lifetime achievement award in 2000 for the work I did in draggin our city's graphic arts community into the digital age. After I left the agency, I formed Productivity Online, the city's first successful ISP (successful in generating publicity and getting people hooked up; financially, I lost a lot of money before I bailed in '96). I've been building websites since the mid-nineties, and I'm OK at it. I'm an adequate programmer, preferring Python.
I'm also a radical leftist, an atheist, a kayaker, a buddhist, and I'd be an anarchist if I could find someone to join me who wasn't ready to just break everything in sight.
My personal websites include:
- http://blumberg.org/rbbio - my professional biography
- http://wmblake.com - the company I formed when I left the agency
- http://iswhatido.org - my blog
- http://dharmastudy.org - my Dharma Study group in Cincinnati
- http://manygods.org - an old site that I keep meaning to update
- http://hjft.org - AA without God, another old site
- http://wmblake.com/los - some old anarchist rants
- and, of course, http://pdparty.us - the site that brought me here
I've also done a site for the people who run the resort we go to in Maine: http://hiramblake.com - I love Maine, and I love Hiram Blake Camp.
